Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Purchasing Administrator contacts vendors regarding open purchase orders, receiving estimated shipping date and/or arrival date, and contacting internal personnel regarding results. Expedites purchase orders when necessary, performs administrative duties for purchasing department.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the functions listed below)

  • Process/run reports for Purchasing department
  • Process on-line Purchase orders including all credit card orders.
  • Contacts vendors regarding open purchase orders, receiving estimated shipping date and/or arrival date, and contacting internal personnel regarding results. Expedites purchase orders when necessary
  • Maintains accurate vendor information for all current approved vendors.
  • Adjusts pricing information as it affects item cost, service order item cost, and system sell price.
  • Distributes, manages, and electronically archives all technical bulletins received.
  • Understands accounts payables guidelines and functions.
  • Follows safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Non-Supervisory Position
  • Reports to the Director of Purchasing
  • Makes decisions that affect other people, the financial resources, and/or the images and reputation of the organization

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or its equivalent and 3-5 years in Customer Service and/or professional experience in purchasing, inventory control, or equivalent years of related training and/or experience.
  • High attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Must have strong skills in Excel
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
  • Must be highly safety conscious
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be highly motivated, and be able to follow through on duties and assignments with minimal supervision
